Urban war mech

This is the project I did for graduation. I aimed to make a urban war mech that utilises fire and napalm to smoke out enemies. 

After the initial design phase I redesigned it 2 or 3 times. The total modelling and texturing time was about 6 weeks.I wanted to push the model a bit further but due to time constraints this was not possible at this time.

The aim was to make a detailed mech model and make PBR textures that work well with it. I also added a little bit of animation to show the mechanical parts a bit more.

Modelled in Maya.

Textured in Substance Painter 2.

Rendered in Maya Vray.

I made the textures in Substance Painter 2. I exported several maps from it to vray. The maps are: Diffuse, Normal, Height, IOR, glossiness and reflection. I assigned these to vray materials in maya and rendered them out using mental ray.
